Stars are a very common motif in Ukrainian embroidery. Here we have three separate designs which feature starlike motifs. The first is an area design useful for a tablecloth or other purpose. The second would make a good design for a man's shirt. The third, which is of the type called 'ox eye' would be equally good for a border of a table scarf. Of course, many other uses are possible.
This type of red and black cross stitch is found all across Ukraine today.
